UPSC Assistant

Education Qualification:-
1. Senior Design Officer Grade-I – Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent*. *Equivalent means any Technical Institutes recognized by AICTE/UGC and not to be construed as educational qualification.

2. Scientist ‘B’ – Degree in Chemistry or Physics or Forensic Science with Chemistry or Physics as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science from a recognised University or institute.

3. Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics) – Master Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry from recognised University or Institute; OR Master Degree in Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science from recognised University or institute.

4. Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) – Masters degree in Physics or Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or Forensic Science with Physics or Mathematics as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science from a recognised University or Institute.

5. Assistant Architect in Central Public Works Department – Degree in Architecture from a recognized University or Institution and registered with Council of Architecture as Architect.

6. Assistant Professor (Ayurveda) – (i) Degree in Ayurveda Medicine from a University established by law or statutory board/faculty/examining body of Indian Medicine or equivalent as recognized under Indian Medicine Central Council Act 1970. (ii) A Post Graduate Degree in the subject/specialty concerned included in the schedule of Indian Medicine Central Council Act 1970.

7. Drugs Inspector in Drugs Control Department – Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law : Provided that only those Inspectors:- (i) Who have not less than eighteen months’ experience in the manufacture of at least one of the substances specified in schedule “C”; or (ii) Who have not less than eighteen months’ experience in testing of at least one of the substances in schedule “C” in a laboratory approved for this purposed by the licensing authority; or (iii) Who have gained experience of not less than three years in the inspection of firms manufacturing any of the substances specified in schedule “C” during the tenure of their services as Drugs Inspectors; shall be authorized to inspect the manufacture of the substances mentioned in schedule “C” [Provided further that the requirement as to the academic qualification shall not apply to persons appointed as Inspectors on or before the 18th day of October, 1993.]

Age Limit:-
1. Senior Design Officer Grade-I – 40 years

2. Scientist ‘B’ – 35 years

3. Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics) – 35 years

4. Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) – 30 years

5. Assistant Architect in Central Public Works Department – 30 years

6. Assistant Professor (Ayurveda) – 45 years

7. Drugs Inspector in Drugs Control Department – 30 years

Important Note:-
The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules.

Salary: –
1. Senior Design Officer Grade-I – Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

2. Scientist ‘B’ – Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

3. Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics) – Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC

4. Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) – Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

5. Assistant Architect in Central Public Works Department – Level- 08 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

6. Assistant Professor (Ayurveda) – Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC plus NPA

7. Drugs Inspector in Drugs Control Department – Level- 08 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC

Application Fees:-
(a) Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.

(b) No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No “fee exemption” is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

(c) Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection would be entertained.

(d) Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

How to apply: –
i) Candidates must apply online through the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.
ii) Candidates must upload the documents/certificates in support of all the claims made by them in the application like, Date of Birth, Experience (preferably in prescribed format), Desirable Qualification(s) etc. or any other information, separately against each claim in pdf file in such a way that the file size does not exceed 1 MB for the respective aforesaid modules and 2 MB for the “UPLOAD OTHER DOCUMENT” module and is legible when a printout taken. For that purpose, the applicant may scan the documents/certificates in 200 dpi grey scale. Documents like Pay Slip, Resume, Appointment Letter, Relieving Letter, Un-signed Experience Certificate etc. must not be uploaded in the Document Upload Module:-

a) Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate indicating date of birth, or mark sheet of Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent issued by Central/State Board indicating Date of Birth in support of claim of age. Where date of birth is not available in certificate/mark sheets, issued by concerned Educational Boards, School leaving certificate indicating Date of Birth (in case of Tamil Nadu& Kerala).

b) Degree/Diploma certificate as proof of educational qualification claimed. In the absence of Degree/Diploma certificate, provisional certificate along with mark sheets pertaining to all the academic years.
